The Impact of Volunteering: ImageFIRST’s Third Annual Community Giving Day

Posted by ImageFIRST on Oct 27, 2017 8:00:00 AM

At ImageFIRST, our purpose is to create a great company by positively impacting the lives of our associates, our community, our customers, and their patients. We want to extend our reach beyond providing medical linen services, although that’s certainly one way we make an impact. But as a whole, we want to make a difference wherever it’s needed in our community.

img1.jpgSince making a positive impact to those in need is at the heart of our company Purpose, we make a day of it each year, and September 29th, 2017 was our third annual Community Giving Day. ImageFIRST locations nationwide hold quarterly giving events throughout the year, but on Community Giving Day, all locations volunteer on the same date in the spirit of company-wide giving.

This year, our theme was “Lend a Hand, Make an Impact.” Each participating ImageFIRST location took a day off from delivering hospital scrubs in Boca Raton, FL, (and many other locations) to lend a hand to a charity of their choice.

Here are the organizations that some of our ImageFIRST locations chose to volunteer with on this year’s Community Giving Day:

  • Atlanta: Veterans Empowerment Organization
  • Chicago: World Relief
  • Dallas: Goodwill
  • King of Prussia: The Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia
  • San Antonio: San Antonio Food Bank
  • Miami: Rescue Mission Broward Outreach Center
  • Los Angeles: LA County Food Bank
  • North Carolina: Habitat for Humanity
  • Fort Myers: Goodwill
  • Lancaster: Humane League of Lancaster County, The Occupational Development Center and Columbia Clothing Bank

The King of Prussia Corporate Office, in particular, truly showed the ImageFIRST spirit. They eagerly arrived at The Boys & Girls Club of Philadelphia ready to complete as many tasks as possible. They got to work right away, finished everything quickly and efficiently, and even completed all tasks in time to ask for more!

Here’s everything the associates from the Corporate Office completed at the facility:img2.jpg

  • Weeding and clearing space in front of the main fence
  • Cleaning and painting a long iron fence
  • Painting an activity room
  • Cleaning up a park across the street
  • Updating cork boards with inspirational messages
  • Painting a room upstairs (their added task)

For our part, the Miami location volunteered with Rescue Mission Broward Outreach Centers.

This organization offers programs for homeless men, women, and children in Miami who have suffered from domestic violence or addiction. On Community Giving Day, our Miami associates helped with housekeeping and organizational tasks.

Malu Perez-Corcho, Human Resources Generalist at ImageFIRST Miami, shared a statement about the impact of the event: “This experience gave us the opportunity to have a close bond with each other and demonstrate that we care. We left with our hearts full of satisfaction and gratitude.”

Our ongoing community giving efforts and medical linen services lead back to the shared purpose of making a positive impact on the lives of others. After our third annual Community Giving Day, we were more ready than ever to get back in the game of delivering medical scrubs and uniforms in Fort Lauderdale, FL, as well as linen management services to take the stress off of medical staff and allow them to prioritize their patients.

Every day, we take more steps toward changing lives of patients and community members. To learn more about our services and volunteer efforts, call 1-800-932-7472 or visit http://miami.imagefirst.com/.
